De Zwaan aims for revenge against Van Gerwen: ''I don’t let that happen again”

Jeffrey de Zwaan forced another clash with Michael van Gerwen on Friday by winning 6-3 over Karel Sedlacek in the first round of the Austrian Darts Open. De Zwaan was superb for three legs, but was all over the place after that. After falling behind 0-2, De Zwaan recorded three 13-darters, among other things, and threw an average of 99.

''The feeling was really there. I felt great to be honest. It was a bit cold in the practice area, I was warming up in the first two legs on the stage. After that I kept going, that's luckily for me.''

It resulted in a rematch with Van Gerwen, who defeated De Zwaan 6-4 earlier this year at the German Darts Grand Prix. 'I'm now starting to play better and better after my shoulder injury. I'm looking forward to play Van Gerwen. Last time I was 1-5 down, but I don't let that happen tomorrow (Saturday, ed.).''
