Gary Anderson through to first Euro Tour final in nine years at European Darts Grand Prix

Gary Anderson is the first finalist at the European Darts Grand Prix in Sindelfingen. With a 7-5 victory over Rob Cross, 'The Flying Scotsman' reached a final on the Euro Tour for the first time since 2015.

He dethroned Cross, who had won the title at last year's European Darts Grand Prix. In truth, both former world champions were below their best. Anderson threw 93 average, compared to only 89 for Cross. Anderson, however, was sharp on the doubles at 7/13.

In the first part of the match, Anderson twice took a break lead, but through a 164 finish in the eighth leg, Cross came back to 4-4. Then 'Voltage' took a 5-4 lead by finishing 14.

Anderson equalized with a 14-darter before an important 11th leg proved decisive. Both players missed quite a few doubles. Cross missed seven chances to make it 6-5, after which Anderson took his third break opportunity. The Flying Scotsman then finished it off with a 14-darter.
