Highest average goes to Wessel Nijman on Development Tours 8 and 9

The eighth and ninth tournaments of the PDC Development Tour were completed Saturday in Hildesheim, Germany.

In the eighth tournament, the final victory went to Wessel Nijman. The 23-year-old Dutchman defeated German Niko Springer 5-4 in the final. Nijman achieved an average of no less than 113.03 in that match, nobody did better on Saturday. On Development Tour 9, Nijman lost out in the semifinals.

The second highest average came in the name of Gian van Veen. The 22-year-old Dutchman beat Jan Schmidt 4-0 in the last 128 of Development Tour 8 to reach 109.31. Van Veen eventually departed in the quarterfinals after a 5-4 defeat to Nijman. In Development Tour 9 the last sixteen was his finish after, again, a defeat against Nijman.

That Nijman was in excellent form during these two tournaments is obvious. In the top ten highest averages, he appears no less than six times.

Today in Hildesheim the tenth tournament of the Development Tour will be completed. After nine tournaments, Gian van Veen continues to lead the rankings, ahead of Keane Barry and Nijman.
