Krzysztof Ratajski through to third round in London with difficult win over Jamie Hughes

Krzysztof Ratajski may report to Alexandra Palace after Christmas for the third round of the World Darts Championship. 'The Polish Eagle' recorded a stumbling 3-1 victory over Jamie Hughes.

It hardly ran smoothly for a moment with Ratajski, who, on the contrary, is usually very solid with few ups and downs. The trebles fell sparingly in the first set and that set was won 3-2 by Hughes.

He then also had chances to win the second set 3-2, but this time "Yozza" failed to hit the double. Ratajski escaped a bigger deficit and made it 1-1 in sets with a 19-darter.

The third set wasn't easy either, but still went 3-2 to Ratajski, who hit double 16 with his third dart in the fifth leg. However, the Pole had to take a rebreak immediately after Hughes threw out 67. Still, Ratajski then forced another break with a 64 finish. He then finished it off with a 16-darter in his own leg.
