"If you'd have offered me a final before the week started I'd have taken it" - Joe Cullen takes the positives after final defeat to Luke Littler at Austrian Darts Open

After some impressive performances last weekend, Joe Cullen came up short on Sunday night in the Austrian Darts Open final, losing out 8-4 to Luke Littler.

As mentioned however, Cullen had impressed on his way to the final with some high averages and big wins. Sadly, in the final, 'The Rockstar' rather ran out of steam with his 85.54 way below the level required to make things difficult for Littler.

"I was not very good - I'm disappointed with the way I played in the final but if you'd have offered me a final before the week started I'd have taken it," Cullen reflected post-match, conceding his lost to the better player on the night. "He played better than me and did what he had to do at the right times."

"He's a fantastic talent, I think he's a generational talent," concluded Cullen, who moves up one spot in the world rankings to fifteenth thanks to this run to the final in Graz. "He's been fantastic all weekend and he's great for the game."
