Vincent van der Voort analyses poor form of Peter Wright: "Now he just throws poorly with everything"

Peter Wright is going through a dramatic period in his career. Last year he still won a Euro Tour and the European Darts Championship, but other than that there are few highlights for the Scot.

In Premier League Darts, things are not going smoothly for Wright either. In the first fourteen rounds of play, the two-time world champion managed only two wins. Vincent van der Voort was on Viaplay Thursday night as an analyst and sees Wright struggling with his form. However, 'The Dutch Destroyer' dismisses the suggestion that it is due to the many changes with the equipment.

''He used to throw well with all kinds of sets everywhere. Now he just throws poorly with everything. So in itself nothing has changed, just his form is just not there.''

The Viaplay broadcast then showed a rundown of the ten matches Wright completed in the month of April. 'Snakebite' played ten matches in that month, but won only one. ''You see a lot of games where he's 4-1, but the confidence is just lost,'' Van der Voort continued. ''Then it's very difficult to put games over the line. You see him in a lot of games where you think 'hey, this is a nice start,' but then it sinks very far after that and he starts missing things,'" Van der Voort concluded.
