James Wade is the new Premier League Darts leader after a brilliant night in Aberdeen.
The Machine lit up the BHGE Arena with a stunning 7-0 thrashing of Daryl Gurney. The 10th Premier League Darts whitewash of all time means Wade leads a four-man group who all have seven points. Rob Cross moves into second place thanks to a second win over Michael Smith in the space of five days.
Michael van Gerwen, having won his first three Premier League games, drops to third after failing to win either of his last two. The latest setback was a scintillating 6-6 draw against ‘contender’ John Henderson. The Highlander bounced back from 3-0 and 6-4 down to grab a point amid a roof-raising Aberdeen atmosphere.
Gerwyn Price sits in the tentative final play-off spot. The Iceman is the only unbeaten player left after Week Five, having beaten Mensur Suljovic 7-3. He is followed by Peter Wright, who earned a convincing 7-3 success against Raymond van Barneveld.
Suljovic and Gurney lie in sixth and seventh respectively. Smith is eighth, while van Barneveld continues to prop up the table.Tags: Daryl Gurney | Gerwyn Price | James Wade | Mensur Suljovic | Michael Smith | Michael van Gerwen | PDC | Premier League Darts 2019 | Raymond van Barneveld | Rob Cross
