Michael van Gerwen is back at the Premier League summit – just about.

The Dutchman got back to winning ways with a 7-2 win over Gerwyn Price in Nottingham. Van Gerwen moves up to nine points, with a +12 leg difference. Rob Cross, who cruised past Raymond van Barneveld, has the same record. Mighty Mike claims the Premier League Darts top spot at this point due only to legs won against throw.

James Wade suffered defeat to Mensur Suljovic, and drops two places to third. He is level on seven point with Peter Wright – who grabbed a draw against Daryl Gurney – and Price. The Welshman’s defeat to van Gerwen means that all nine permanent Premier League participants have lost at least once.

Suljovic is now just a point off the play-offs on six points. Michael Smith, a winner against Nathan Aspinall, leapfrogs Gurney into seventh. Van Barneveld sits bottom of the pile still, and is three points from safety with three games left before the relegation cut-off.

Barney meets Max Hopp in Berlin next week, before taking on Gurney and van Gerwen in what is likely to be a farewell double-header in Rotterdam.
