It has been a year since the last nine-dart finish at the Grand Slam of Darts with Dimitri van den Bergh the last one to hit one during last year’s tournament.
Despite the rising standard, there has been no more nine-dart finishes since that on TV with multiple players going close but no-one able to hit one.
This draught is even more surprising considering that there has been 46 non-TV perfect legs since then recorded over the past year.
It seems like despite the ProTour very much rising in standard, the TV game has not properly followed suit. There will be hopes that this will be broken this weekend as the Grand Slam of Darts finishes up.

Today marks exactly one year without a televised nine-darter, the longest such drought in 15 years.
It's especially surprising for the drought to have lasted so long given the 46 non-TV perfect legs recorded in the past 365 days.
