Joshua Charnley, Dom Crosby, Tom Briscoe and Jamie Jones-Buchanan claimed the team title for Team Superleague during the Target Sport Stars Fishing Championship, while Jimmy Bullard took the single title.

Several sports stars were invited to the Target Sports Stars Fishing Championship in Aldershot. In two sessions 32 anglers tried to catch as many fish as possible in order to reach the highest possible place with the combined weight of all caught fish. The participants were not only fishing for fun, but also raised money for Parkinson’s UK. For the second time the event was held at the Gold Valley Lakes in Aldershot.

In the first session, Tamas Walter secured the lead just ahead of Jimmy Bullard and Adrian Lewis. In the overall ranking of the teams, Team Matchroom was clearly ahead of Team Target, Team Netball and Team Dalroad Football. While Team Superleague and Team Snooker kept up with the places in front.

In the second session Team Superleague made a remarkable comeback. The team of English rugby players stormed from sixth place to first place early on and did not let themselves take the lead until the end, even though they only managed to win the team title in front of Team Matchroom by a hair’s breadth. The team of the darts manufacturer Target secured a solid third place.

The individual title was won by Jimmy Bullard, who only narrowly beat Adrian Lewis. Chris Mason remained empty-handed, while Ian White could catch at least one fish with 0.08 Ibs. Darren Webster finished the tournament on place 20.

A total of £15,000 was raised for Parkinson’s UK, which is almost as much as the amount of raised money from the last six editions together, which was just under £21,000.
