Lisa Ashton has ended her involvement at the Grand Slam of Darts in an event which has seen two ladies included for the first time in nine years.

Ashton spoke after her final game against Dave Chisnall and said that despite not playing how she can, it is an experience that she really enjoyed and hopes for again next year.

It is one as well for ‘The Lancashire Rose’ alongside Mikuru Suzuki, she hopes will see even more of a step up in the ladies game and as well that they will get another chance.

‘I’ve really enjoyed it. I’ve not played the game as I know I can do but I’ve enjoyed the experience hopefully I can get it again,’ said Ashton to LiveDarts.

‘It’s a new tournament, a new experience but hopefully we will learn from it and keep it going.’

‘Hopefully it is another step forward for the ladies and hopefully it can step up the ladies and we can get another chance.’
