The world of darts mainly reacted suprised after the decision from the PDC to replace Gary Anderson with nine different players in the Premier League Darts.
The Scotsman had to pull out after being not adequately recovered from a back injury. Instead of picking one replacement, the PDC chose for stars of the future and local favourites.
Many prominent people did not see this decision coming. For example Michael Smith and Kim Huybrechts published a tweet with just the text ‘Wow’. The selected players were grateful for their invitation and wished Anderson a speedy recovery.
Dartsnews has made an overview with some comments from darts players and pundits on social media.

Very proud to have been given a opportunity by the @OfficialPDC and @SkySportsDarts to play a night in the premier league. I’m very grateful and I can’t wait to play on the stage again. Would like to also wish @GaryAnderson180 a speedy recovery with his back. 🎯 https://t.co/CyVymmIN8p

Was I the only one who liked the @OfficialPDC and @SkySportsDarts decision of replacing Anderson for 9 contenders? feel sorry for some players that deserved a chance but come on, that’s great opportunity for 9 instead of just 1. hope I have the same opportunity in the future 🤞🏻
