Keane Barry claimed the BDO World Youth Championship title on Saturday with the 17-year old Irishman beating Leighton Bennett 3-0.
Barry also previously claimed the JDC World Youth Championship title at the Alexandra Palace and was ecstatic to win especially against an opponent like Bennett.
“It is great to win this world title. Leighton also played very well, but at the right moments I took my chances. That it was a good match with a very good opponent gives this world title even more honour. “
“I have trained a lot and it is always nice to reap the benefits. There is currently a lot of talent among the youth and the level is very high, so you cannot get there without much training. ”
“Next week I will take my chance at PDC Q-School. Hopefully I can claim my Tour Card there, but if that doesn’t work out I’ll play the Development and Challenge Tour. ”
