Stephen Bunting continued his resurgence by smashing Christian Goedl in a whitewash win for the St Helens ace. Goedl averaged 92 to ‘The Bullet’s 101 but couldn’t convert his chances.
This means the scoreline flattered him slightly but him it felt really good and he can feel himself returning back to his old self. Bunting also added that he believes he is playing as good as the worlds top ten.
He faces recent Pro Tour winner Ian White later today on Day 2 in Munich.
“It felt really good,” said Bunting. “I’ve been working really hard behind the scenes and putting a lot of hours in practice with Dawson Murschell, and he’s been pushing me.
“I can feel myself getting back to my old self. I believe I’m playing [as good as the] top ten. I’m putting more hours in than I’ve ever done before and I’m feeling confident again. I believe I can win events again.”
Bunting added: “Ian White’s a great player and I can’t wait to play him tomorrow. The best man on the day will win, and if I play my best game I’ve got a really good chance.”
