The second day of action in the PDC Summer Series will conclude shortly and it will see Dave Chisnall face first time PDC ranking finalist Ryan Joyce in the final of Players Championship 10.
Joyce was first through to the final after another sublime win, this time against Gary Anderson. It finished 7-3 to ‘Relentless’ who averaged 101 and he now stands one win away not only from becoming a PDC Ranking winner for the first time but also cementing a surprise spot in the World Matchplay.
Today has seen the Newcastle ace come through against Andy Hamilton (6-4), Luke Humphries (6-3), Chris Dobey (6-4), Madars Razma (6-5) and Glen Durrant (6-5) so his progress to the final was done with ease compared to his previous ties.
He was followed by Chisnall who edged past Nathan Aspinall in a 7-5 win which was a close game throughout but it was the former who shone through in the end.
This was cemented with him going seven darts into a nine-dart finish in the final leg with the darts. It was a 96 average for the St Helens ace in victory as he looks to add his first title of the season and his first since two Players Championship events last year.
