The second semi-final has been confirmed at the Danish Darts Open with Jonny Clayton and Dave Chisnall set to face off after both players produced crushing victories to make it through.

Clayton stormed through against Simon Whitlock in a 6-1 win to stake his claim for the title hitting a 97 average along the way.

He opened an early lead over the Wizard going 2-0 up in a strong start for the Ferret and continued on claiming a break of throw which would prove to be the turning point and move him 4-1 up in the end.

Whitlock missed chances to get back into the contest and Clayton as a result ended up punishing his opponent for that by making it 5-1 from there he raced to the finish line.

The difference in the contest was the doubling statistics with Whitlock only hitting 16 percent of his attempts at double.

Clayton wasn’t too much better at 31 percent but he had more chances than Whitlock hitting 6/19, something which despite the result; the Welshman will have to change for the semi-final.

In that he will face Chisnall who similarly stormed into the semi-finals with a 6-1 victory over Jermaine Wattimena.

A match that promised to be frenetic and a brilliant scoring affair wasn’t that. It was more of a doubles masterclass in some respect from the St Helens ace.

He hit 6/9 on his doubles including two ton plus checkouts on his way to the win which equates to 66 percent compared to 1/8 from his opponent.

As well as that he hit two 180’s and seven 140’s in an excellent display by ‘Chizzy’. Wattimena wasn’t at his best in this case but will look to continue his form into the next Pro Tour events though after a superb two weeks.
