Jonny Clayton and Simon Whitlock are set to face off in the next confirmed Quarter-Final at the Danish Darts Open in Copenhagen after victories over James Wade and Adrian Lewis respectively.
Clayton was clinical during his tie against the Aldershot ace meaning even Wade who is usually one of the best at clutch finishing couldn’t edge him out.
It was 6-2 in the end with a 146 checkout being the highlight. This was all capped off with a 102 average from the Welshman with 6/15 on the doubles.
Whitlock edged out Lewis in a 6-3 victory to move through to tonight’s action in a good performance from ‘The Wizard’ who is starting to gain a bit of form again.
He made a solid start at 2-0 up but ‘Jackpot’ ended up smashing in back-to-back legs to restore parity at 3-3.
Lewis missed three darts at double 20 and Whitlock returned to make it 4-3 which was the turning point with the Australian surging to the victory.
