Rob Cross reached the third round at the European Darts Open after seeing off Steve Beaton as the former world champion averaged over 101 to go through.

Cross stormed into a 4-0 lead, before Beaton claimed two legs to halve the deficit. ‘The Bronzed Adonis’ got one more leg as ‘Voltage’ concluded the match in the nineth leg.

Mensur Suljovic booked a hard-fought 6-4 victory over Matthew Dennant, who qualified for this tournament through the UK Qualifier. ‘The Gentle’ averaged 99.6 with 75% on the doubles to move into the third round in Leverkusen.
