Rob Cross is pleased that the World Matchplay will be going ahead next month on it’s original dates whether it can be held with a crowd or elsewhere behind closed doors.
Cross said it’ll be tough to potentially go straight back into a big tournament like the World Matchplay almost straight away but as defending champion, he is glad that the sport is beginning to move again in the right direction.
“It’s great news, I’m over-the-moon. I know that the PDC has been working so hard to keep the sport ticking along despite such difficult circumstances,” said Cross to DartsWorld.
“It’s fair to say we are all desperate to get back to the big stage if it is safe to do so for all players”.
“It will be tough to come back and straight into a major event like the Matchplay. But it’s a sign that life is getting back to normal hopefully.”Tags: Rob Cross, World Matchplay
