Rob Cross booked a place for the final day of the Gibraltar Darts Trophy after a hardfought win over Cristo Reyes.
Cross was 2-5 down after seven legs, but managed to break Reyes twice with a 12-dart leg. ‘Voltage’ held his own throw in the legdecider to claim the victory.
The tournament lost his defending champion as Michael Smith went out against Jermaine Wattimena. ‘Machine Gun’ missed four matchdarts in the nineth leg, before Smith levelled the game with a 142 finish. The Dutchman then held throw in the 11th leg to complete the comeback.
Joe Cullen put in a fantastic display to overcome Darius Labanauskas. ‘The Rockstar’ averaged nearly 108 to beat the Lithuanian 6-1.
