The situation regarding the PDC Summer Series and the subsequent rankings have been clarified with all 128 players still able to qualify for the World Matchplay.
Resuming with a series of five Players Championship events taking place at the Marshall Arena between July 8-12 in Milton Keynes, there will be £375,000 on offer with the field set to be confirmed for the World Matchplay.
The top 16 players from the PDC Order of Merit will be seeded for the World Matchplay and as usual, they will be joined by 16 qualifiers from the one-year ProTour Order of Merit.
In terms of debutants, Ryan Searle‘s Players Championship win earlier this season will potentially hand him a debut in the tournament, with the likes of Jose de Sousa and Gabriel Clemens also set for debuts after their emergence.
Simon Whitlock could also be in trouble with him well down on the ProTour Order of Merit and currently only 14th. There are a lot of players who could force their way in or lose their places with the Summer Series pivotal.
