Michael van Gerwen will begin his quest for back-to-back PDC World Series of Darts titles against Raymond Smith at the Melbourne Darts Masters.
Last weekend’s semi-finalist Simon Whitlock will play Corey Cadby in an exciting first round fixture at the Melbourne Darts Masters. Peter Wright meets Mike Bonser, while Raymond van Barneveld faces Raymond O’Donnell.
World Champion Rob Cross has drawn Haupai Puha, with Shanghai Darts Masters champion Michael Smith set to meet Tim Pusey. Gary Anderson clashes with James Bailey, while Kyle Anderson plays Damon Heta.
Following Friday’s first round of the Melbourne Darts Masters, the tournament continues across the weekend at the Hisense Arena, with the quarter-finals on Saturday followed by the semi-finals and final on Sunday.
After the Melbourne Darts Masters, the Australian double-header sees the World Series of Darts head to Queensland for the first Brisbane Darts Masters from August 17-19.
