Glen Durrant surprisingly lost in the first round at the Danish Darts Open in Copenhagen. He was beaten by Kevin Burness (6-5).

Durrant came back from a 2-0 deficit, but lost his throw again in the eighth leg, as Burness took out 121 on the bullseye to lead 5-3.

With a 12-darter and hitting double 10, ‘Duzza’ recovered again and he forced a leg-decider. However Burness had the throw in the 11th leg and hit a maximum score before he pinned a 68 checkout to edge out the three-time Lakeside champion.

Martin Schindler didn’t lost a leg en route to the last 32. Despite only averaging (85) two points higher then his opponent Kim Viljanen (83), the German claimed a 6-0 win. Ryan Harrington overcame Danish qualifier Niels-Jorgen Hansen to move into round two.
