Michael van Gerwen finished the Euro Tour season with a brilliant 6th title of the year on the circuit with the only player coming close to matching him being Peter Wright with 5. He spoke after his win in Gottingen and expressed his delight of winning the tournament and as well his admiration for his opponent, Rob Cross who achieved his second Euro Tour final in a whirlwind year for ‘Voltage’.
“I’m very happy to have won this tournament and I felt great all weekend,” said Van Gerwen, who bounced back from a first round exit at the World Grand Prix.
“I decided to take a holiday after losing in Dublin and it paid off. I feel refreshed and ready for the big part of the season – that started with winning this tournament.
“Rob has had a great season but I always feel confident against whoever I play and they know it is a different game against me. I pulled out some big shots at the right times and that is why I won the final.”Tags: European Darts Trophy 2017 | European Tour | Michael van Gerwen
