Peter Wright got through to the World Grand Prix Quarter Finals to continue his tag as the favourite for the tournament. The World Number 3 admits that he is fortunate to be through after hearing a ‘twang’ when practising but he still got through Mervyn King to set up a tie with the in-form Mensur Suljovic and he had some words about the Champions League winner.
“I was practising and threw one dart too hard and just felt it go ‘twang’,” revealed Wright, who now plays Suljovic.
“It was really affecting me in the first set but I adjusted my throw and it got a little better and fortunately I’m through.
“I’ll rest tonight and be ready to play Mensur, he’s playing alright at the moment but people aren’t playing well against him.”Tags: Peter Wright | World Grand Prix 2017
