Gerwyn Price knocked out defending champion Mensur Suljovic in a hotly contested match full of showboating and high averages. Suljovic missed a dart at D18 and Price put in a brilliant final leg to get through to face the winner of the next game between Ian White and Kim Huybrechts.
Kim Huybrechts will face Gerwyn Price in a battle of two very intense players. The Hurricane extended his record to 9 out of 13 vs Ian White after an impressive last leg decider.
Joe Cullen continued a brilliant run in Riesa taking out a rejuvenated Alan Norris who has looked out of sorts as of late. The Rockstar put in a good performance averaging just shy of 100 and will face either Mervyn King or Simon Whitlock in tonight’s Quarter-Final.
Simon Whitlock finished off the afternoon session with an emphatic win against Mervyn King 6-1 with an average of 99.82 and 6/14 on the doubles and will face Joe Cullen later.
