Daryl Gurney claimed a draw against Gerwyn Price on the third night of Premier League action in Cardiff to put his first points on the board.

On reflection, Gurney said that due to how well Price has been playing as of late without picking up the results, it’s a good start to his Premier League campaign.

He lauded praise on his opponent as well calling him ‘phenomenal’ after they ended up sharing the spoils in front of ‘The Iceman’s home crowd.

“Considering how well Gerwyn is playing, it’s probably good but after the first two weeks, it was his worst game so I was lucky. At the same time, he is under pressure because it’s his local crowd but I think honestly when it came down to it, a draw was a fair result,” said Gurney to LiveDarts.

“Fair play to that man, he’s phenomenal. He’s probably the second or third best darts player in the world right now but he’s definitely pushing the World Number One.”

“For me I’ve played the best players in the first three weeks, after this it should be easy. But it’s not that way, honestly to come here and play Gerwyn in front of his home crowd, being under pressure I’m happy to get a point.”
