Daryl Gurney saw off Kyle Anderson and survived a spirited comeback from ‘The Original’ to move through on the opening night of action at the Melbourne Darts Masters.

Gurney spoke afterwards and admitted that while he was pleased, he said it was his fault the match got dragged out. He added that he’s been working really hard on his game so getting the results shows it’s paying off.

“I was pleased with the way I started so I was happy with that but it was my own fault that I let Kyle back in.

“I’m been working really hard at home and whilst i’ve been away so beating quality players shows the hard work is paying off.”
