Daryl Gurney is through to face Michael van Gerwen in the final of the Melbourne Darts Masters after an 8-5 win over Rob Cross.

Gurney has lost out to Cross in their past televised meetings but it was three times the charm for ‘Superchin’ who moved through with a 98 average and five 180’s.

Both players started neck and neck until the eleventh leg. ‘Voltage’ missed five darts to hold and was broken by Gurney thanks to a 76 finish.

He then doubled this with a 13-darter for a 7-5 lead. Cross looked to come back into the contest but wasted six darts from 107 and Gurney finished the tie off with a third match dart to claim the win and set up a showdown with Van Gerwen who he has got the better of as of late.
