Daryl Gurney is set to take Nathan Aspinall as the final of Players Championship 25 in Barnsley has been confirmed.
Gurney saw off Ian White, the number one seed in a 7-4 win which saw ‘Superchin’ average 100.5 as he aims to win his first Players Championship title in 2 years.
It will be his second title of the year though after his victory at the German Darts Championship. It will also be a first title on the Players Championship of the year for Aspinall who last won a title in 2018.
He can add to that and his US Open and US Darts Masters triumph with this title and he edged past Michael Smith in doing so.
