Jamie Hughes has had a busy 2018 – and February is not over yet.

The Black Country ace suffered a difficult January. After bowing out of the BDO World Championship at the hands of qualifier Michael Unterbuchner, Hughes opted to switch to the PDC. However, he was unable to claim a Tour Card after four days of Q-School. But February has been much more successful.

Yozzer finished 25th in the UK Open Order of Merit after six qualifiers. That means he enters in the third round in Minehead. Following that, he won through to the European Darts Open after the first UK European Tour qualifier. The coup de grace came in Players Championship 1. Hughes averaged 125.3, the highest in PDC events by any player this year, as he battered Robbie Green 6-0. Despite not holding a Tour Card, he is now the world number 95.
