Luke Humphries was the number one seed this past weekend in the knockout rounds of the World Youth Championship and fell at the second round stage.
As Premium Dart Data posted, he is the first of many to have the curse of this number one seeding.
Benito van de Pas was number one seed in 2017 but fell in the first round. Dean Reynolds was in 2016 and went two better than that falling at Round 3.
The best a player has done from that position was Michael van Gerwen who twice reached the final and lost.
