After the action in Leeds there is a new, yet very familiar, Premier League leader.

Michael van Gerwen moved on to eight points after a 7-4 win over Simon Whitlock. That moved him level on points with Michael Smith. Bully Boy finally succumbed to his first Premier League defeat of the season in Leeds. His 7-5 reverse against Rob Cross brought his leg difference down to +12. With a +15 difference, the defending champion reaches the league summit for the first time in 2018.

Whitlock remains third in the standings, thanks to a second defeat on the spin. Cross’ victory was his third in as many matches. That means he moves level on points with the Wizard, though with an inferior leg difference. Raymond van Barneveld’s win over Gerwyn Price means he sits just outside the coveted top four. Thanks to a second win in a row, Mensur Suljovic leapfrogs three players to go sixth.

Gary Anderson and Peter Wright failed to win in Leeds, and so sit just above the relegation zone. The victory-shy pair of Daryl Gurney and Gerwyn Price occupy the bottom two spots. Thanks to his draw with Anderson, Superchin sits a point ahead of his Welsh rival.
