MAD announces £50,000 Big Weekend including European Amateur Open and Golden Gauntlet

Modern Amateur Darts (MAD) have announced further details of events to come later this year with their £50,000 Big Weekend to be played later this year in December.

This features three days of action starting on Friday December 10 with the European Amateur Open Finals with a £30,000 overall prize fund and £10,000 for the winner. They will also gain a place in the Golden Gauntlet.

Following the conclusion of the finals, the Golden Gauntlet will take place where 30 invited players which consist of MAD Championship title holders, wildcards and even players from the crowd will be drawn at random to compete for a £10k top prize.

This sees a winner stays on format with a new entrant joining when the match is won which draws parallel to WWE's Royal Rumble match.

Saturday 11 December sees the MAD Winmau Membership Pairs with the action concludes with the MAD Winmau Membership Singles and the MAD Winmau Ladies Open with guaranteed prize funds of £5,000 and £2,000 respectively.

There will also be a JDC tournament in the form of the Weekend Classic with proceedings held at Bunn Leisure in Selsey.
