Mensur Suljovic is the new favourite for the World Grand Prix title, the Austrian dispatched the odds-on favourite ‘Snakebite’ Peter Wright 3-1 after going a set down with multiple ton plus checkouts including one to win the contest.
The player known as ‘The Gentle’ next has the task of Simon Whitlock and he spoke after the win over Wright about his delight of getting through and also how he would feel if he won back to back majors.
“I’m delighted,” said Suljovic. “I was focused on my game. I wasn’t happy after the first set but I came back well.
“It would be a dream to win the World Grand Prix. I’ve got a perfect feeling right now but it’s a new day in the semi-finals.”
