Mensur Mania hit Cardiff for the first time in the Champions League of Darts as Suljovic defeated Gary Anderson 10-3.
The Austrian world number 7 has struggled for form of late, but produced a stunning display to take a 6-0 lead over the former 2-time world champion. Anderson finally got on the board in leg 7 with an 11-dart leg, and took the next in 13. The crowd hoped this would have fired up the Flying Scotsman, notorious for producing superb darts when angry, but it never materialised.
Suljovic made the most of missed doubles by Anderson in leg 9 which seemed to once again deflate Anderson.
Mensur finally killed of the Anderson resistance with a 157 out in leg 12. Anderson sat waiting on double 10 after missing a dart at tops.
Anderson lost in the semi-finals of this event last year, and now faces an uphill battle to make it out of the group, and qualify for the knockout stages. He will face Chisnall in this evenings session as the pair battle to survive, whilst Suljovic will battle Peter Wright for top spot in the group and almost certain qualification to tomorrows semi-finals.
A HUGE ONE from Mensur Suljovic!
