Michael van Gerwen thinks that within a year and a half and the walk-on girls from darts will have disappeared.
‘Not because there is criticism, but because darts is ready for a next step’, says the reigning world champion in an interview with AD.
“A rise with music and only the player. That is what the fans ultimately wants to go to. It is very double: darts is also very much entertainment, but the PDC also wants more people to see it as a sport. It does not interest me like that. It is just a sport. People just look at it as that much. And that’s what it’s all about. ”
