Michael van Gerwen will take on Gary Anderson in the final of the World Series of Darts Finals in Glasgow. ‘Mighty Mike’ dispatched ‘Superchin’ Daryl Gurney 11-8 to reach that final and it is a third consecutive one for Van Gerwen who will be not only against Anderson but against the crowd who will be willing the Flying Scotsman on to the title in his home country.
It was though a less than vintage display from MVG as he averages 95.5 and misses 15 darts at doubles, but it proves sufficient to see off Superchin and if recent memory is anything to go by, Van Gerwen always has a second gear that he goes to in a final and as does Anderson so it will be a very interesting final to round off the World Series tour for the year.
