PDPA Chairman Manley “fully supportive” of season restart after previous criticism of decision during recent interview

Peter Manley recently made comments that he wasn’t happy restarting the PDC circuit in early July admitting he wanted it to happen later in the month or August.

But Manley has now released a statement on behalf of the PDPA revealing that he is “supportive” of the decision; as well as that he wanted to make his views abundantly clear regarding the restart.

“I would like to categorically state that I am fully supportive of the PDC’s intention to return to tournament play next month as represented in the PDPA’s statement on June 12th; which was agreed and authorised by myself,” said Manley.

“I would also like to apologise to the PDC and PDPA members for some misjudged comments I made in a recent interview (with RTL News) that do not reflect the views of the PDPA or my own personal opinions.

In the interview I failed to effectively portray my views as the PDPA Chairman; I would like to take this opportunity to make them clear.

Any concerns raised by our membership have been discussed with the PDC and I am extremely satisfied that the PDC has considered all potential risks ahead of announcing its intention to stage the World Matchplay and Summer Series in July.”
