Jesus Noguera may have been the lowest ranked player coming into proceedings in PDC Home Tour Group 22 but he proved his class in one of the closest nights of action so far.
Noguera claimed two wins and one defeat which gave him the honours ahead of Danny Noppert who finished only one leg behind on leg difference.
This came after the Spaniard suffered defeat to Noppert 5-2 in a game which could have handed him the group before Ian White toed the oche.
‘Diamond’ though who many picked to claim the group had an equation to do so though and that was he needed a 5-3 win or better to claim it. He was facing James Wilson who was sat on two defeats and -4 leg difference but the Huddersfield ace got to four legs which ended the hopes of White who then went onto lose out to ‘Jammy Dodger’.
This handed Noguera the group and a route through to the next round of the competition becoming the latest surprise package in the PDC Home Tour.
Every evening, the four players will each face off; with each match being the best of nine legs. This group stage lasts 32 days with that amount of players set to reach the next round to play it out from there to crown a winner.
All players have webcams set up in their houses and say their scores out loud; to make sure that they can be inputted correctly without any cheating taking place.
With each night’s action commencing at 1930 BST, darts commentator Dan Dawson will be on hand to talk through proceedings; which will also include live score graphics on screen.
All PDC Home Tour action will be broadcast live on PDCTV for free to all registered PDCTV users; regardless of whether you have a paid or free membership.
In addition all live-scores can be followed on DartConnect; with match statistics being available after every match.
