Danny Noppert produced a stunning win over Daryl Gurney at the World Grand Prix – two years on from the Northern Irishman’s title win on the Emerald Isle.

Noppert spoke afterwards and reflected on the victory saying that the key for him was taking his chances. He added that getting a win over a top ten player is brilliant for him and now he is looking forward to his next tie on Wednesday evening.

“It feels good,” said Noppert. “Daryl missed a lot of doubles and I took my chances, and to win against a top ten player is brilliant for me.

“I’m over the moon with this win and it means a lot to me. I’m in the tournament now and looking forward to Wednesday evening.”
