The darting world was buzzing yesterday when the news broke out of the PDC World Championship field being extended to 96 players including more spots for qualifiers, 32 Pro Tour players as well as two female participants in the season ending event at the Alexandra Palace.

One of the main questions that was asked related to the status of the female participants; and whether the PDC and the BDO would have any problem with the ladies competing at both championships.
While it is unknown whether the BDO are in agreement as to whether this can be the case, the PDC don’t have a problem with it. Barry Hearn, the chairman of the organisation saying so on Twitter yesterday.
It will be interesting to see what the BDO think; as well as  who will be involved out of the current crop of BDO ladies in trying to qualify for the World Championship.
