Michael van Gerwen has streaked even further clear at the top of the PDC Order of Merit.
Mighty Mike won £20,000 after success in Barnsley at the weekend. The Dutchman is a remarkable £1,021,250 ahead of world number two Peter Wright. The Order of Merit has not been shaken up at the top end at all. It is around the all-important 64th spot that change is in the offing. Corey Cadby is already up to 70th. The Australian ace is closing in on the top 64, which guarantees a Tour Card. Though Cadby already has a two-year card, the benefits of breaking into the top 64 is many fold.
The UK Open in March will be the next opportunity to rake in a large amount of ranking money.
