Standings

In the first six rounds, that were played before the COVID-19 lockdown, Glen Durrant took the lead. By winning four of his six matches and losing only one match Durrant put himself in front of Van Gerwen. Mighty Mike also won four matches, but lost two.

Michael Smith is third in the ranking. Smith produced a nine-darter on the 27the of February, but also lost two matches and was forced to concede one draw. Nathan Aspinall is fourth in play before this restart will occur. Aspinall had won two legs more than Peter Wright while both have equal points. The first four players will compete in the play-offs, so Wright need to overtake at least one of the four players in front of him.

Number six Gary Anderson also needs to get in play quickly. Welshmen Gerwyn Price has a big gap to close only winning one match so far the play-offs are far out of reach. The 2019 finalist Rob Cross is struggling. Cross is second last in the rankings, only letting Daryl Gurney behind. Gurney’s ninth place will mean that he is out of the tournament after the first phase of this 2020 Premier League Darts. For both Cross and Gurney every win counts!

Favourites

Considering the current standings one can concluded that Durrant is one of the big favourites to win this years edition. He will face Peter Wright and Michael van Gerwen in his next two matches. Of course Van Gerwen is still top favourite for winning this edition and the upcoming matches at the end of this month.

Michael Smith is facing Gary Anderson in the England versus Scotland-clash on the first night. After this exciting game Smith with compete against Cross in the 8th round and Aspinall on night nine.

The online betting sites all thinks Durrant, Van Gerwen and Smith will contains on top of the leaderboard after this six plays behind closed doors in Milton Keynes.
