The semi-final line-up has been confirmed at Players Championship 20 with Peter Wright set to face Adrian Gray and Joe Cullen set to take on Adrian Lewis with four men remaining in the running for the £10,000 top prize.
Wright has been in scintillating form all day once again and that did not let up when he took on Devon Petersen. He smashed his way to a whitewash win; which saw him average 108.
‘The African Warrior’ himself averaged 103 and didn’t do a lot wrong but was given almost no opportunity by ‘Snakebite’ who seems on the verge of smashing his way to back-to-back ranking titles.
Gray on the other hand is in territory he hasn’t been in since 2012 with ‘The Conqueror’ edging out Steve Beaton in a closely run affair. The Hastings ace who has since made his name in soft-tip has shown some good form after a dismal start to the year; he will be tackled with facing off against a ‘Snakebite’ towards the peak of his powers.
In the second semi-final it will see Joe Cullen who has been impressive also all day face off against Adrian Lewis. ‘The Rockstar’ edged past Rob Cross who alongside Wright was setting the pace; while Lewis saw off Jan Dekker who was a surprise Quarter-Finalist but hit a 79 average against Lewis to dispel any chance of a semi-final place.
