The action in the Remote Darts League continues with Night Seven in the book and the main result to come from the tournament which features BDO/WDF players is that James Richardson’s run is over.
Tony O’Shea ended the run of the Rushden ace in a 7-5 victory which saw ‘Silverback’ lead 3-0 and then 5-1 and from there a win seemed to be edging closer but from there, Richardson won four of the next five legs to take proceedings to a decider.
But O’Shea finished with a flourish smashing in a 115 checkout to deny Richardson’s comeback and take the points and his unbeaten run.
Dean Winstanley and John Walton started the night and shared a 6-6 draw with neither player being able to get off the mark as of yet in a match that saw Winstanley produce a comeback only to be denied by Walton in the last leg to share the points.
There was also victory for Jim Williams who eased past Alan Norris 7-3 in a match that should have been more comprehensive as Norris produced a late flurry but it wasn’t enough to deny ‘The Quiff’ another haul of points.
Darryl Fitton and Wes Newton also put in a good display in the form of a 6-6 draw. Fitton went 3-1 up in the early stages but the duo exchanged the final six legs to tie the match up and share the points in the end.
Paul Hogan finally continued his brilliance in another comeback match which saw Gary Robson come from 5-1 down at the halfway point but he found his way back into the match taking the next four legs and despite it looking like ‘Big Robbo’ was going to take a draw, ‘Crocodile Dundee’ somehow found his way through.
