Michael van Gerwen did what he does best by smashing Ian White 10-1 in Hasselt to set up a Quarter-Final with Simon Whitlock. The ruthless World Number One averaged 105, hit 4 180’s and a high checkout of 164 and extend his unbeaten run in the tournament to 17 games as a result.
White didn’t play badly hitting a 99 average but just didn’t take his chances against van Gerwen and was punished as a result. Last time they played it was 6-1 to White and this time it was 10-1 to MVG and Mighty Mike will be hoping to replicate that against the in form Australian, Simon Whitlock.
