Martin Schindler pulled off one of the best comeback shocks in the history of the World Series on Friday night dumping out Michael van Gerwen in a brilliant win.

Schindler was 5-1 down and seemingly cruising to another defeat to the World Number One but as MVG started to fall away, ‘The Wall’ picked up the pieces and won five consecutive legs to claim the win.

He spoke afterwards and said that he didn’t know how he won the game but that it might be the biggest win in his career so far. He added also that it hasn’t sunk in yet quite what he has done.

“It’s an amazing feeling, I just can’t even put it into words,” said two-time World Cup of Darts quarter-finalist Schindler.

“I was shaking so much, I don’t know how I won that game but I did it and right now I’m just so, so happy.

“This may be the biggest win of my career, I’m not even sure at the moment but when it sinks in I think it will be my biggest win.”
