Kirk Shepherd claimed a shock victory in the second round of the Danish Darts Open in Copenhagen dumping out Rob Cross.

Shepherd went 3-0 up before ‘Voltage’ blew a chance to level up and the former World finalist kept his cool to surge to the victory and he spoke of his delight afterwards.

He also looked forward to today’s action when he will face Chris Dobey in the third round and said he hopes he can keep it going.

“I’m absolutely delighted. Rob let me off the hook but that’s not my fault, and now I’ve beaten a World Champion,” said Shepherd.

“This is the furthest I’ve ever got on the European Tour and I’m really enjoying it so let’s see if I can keep it going tomorrow.”
