Mikuru Suzuki will make her debut later today at the Grand Slam of Darts and it doesn’t get more difficult than the defending champion himself, Gerwyn Price.
Suzuki spoke to LiveDarts ahead of the tournament beginning and said that she has no fear about taking on the likes of Price, Van den Bergh and Thornton but knows that she will have to produce her best game in order to defeat them.
‘Miracle’ isn’t sure on pressure though saying that Price may feel it because he’s defending champion but it won’t necessarily be the case with her.
“Every player in any tournament now is very good so I am used to having to play to a very high standard. I think this also improves my game,” said Suzuki to LiveDarts.
“I definitely have no fear about playing Gerwyn, Dimitri or Robert. They are all amazing players who have won titles so I know I have to produce my best game.
“I’m not sure about who will have much pressure, Gerwyn may feel that because he is the current champion. There is no bigger pressure than what I already put on myself.
“But my aim is to go to Wolverhampton and enjoy the games and see what I can achieve. It is all good experience for me all the time.”Tags: Mikuru Suzuki
